Character name: Thornstar
Age: 34 moons (2 years, 10 months)
Gender: She-cat
Clan: ShadowClan
Rank: Leader
Appearance (200 words min.): Thornclaw's pelt is short. It is a deep grey colour that sometimes looks silver in the right lighting. There is no pattern in her pelt, but rather two patches of white fur, one on her front right paw, and one on her chest. Her whiskers are short in length and her eyes are a deep amber, often flecked with a look of coldness. Her ears are a bit large, but otherwise normal. Her build is thin, but strong and well-muscled. She's about average size for a she-cat her age, maybe a touch smaller, and her tail is long and thin. It is often seen twitching in annoyance. As for her legs, they are long and slender. Her teeth and claws are thorn sharp, hence her name; she makes sure to sharpen her claws every day.
On her left ear there is a notch missing from a past battle. Her flank has a few scars running along it, but they are mostly covered by her fur. However, she has a particularly large and noticeable one on her hind leg, which she received from a fight with a RiverClan warrior when she was an apprentice.
Her face is most often seen with a bored expression upon it.
Personality (250 words min.): Thornclaw is a slightly cold and very irritable cat. She finds most other cats to be incessantly loud and annoying. She tends to be grumpy and unfriendly unless you are a close friend, or are lucky enough to catch her on a good day. However, this rarely happens.
She is often thought to be unfeeling, but this is untrue. She cares deeply for her clan and most of her peers, but she believes showing emotion it makes you appear weak, and caring about things just gives your enemies tools with which they can destroy you.
She is a very clever cat, and a strong warrior. She is a decent hunter, but she much prefers fighting. However, she has been known to be very cruel when fighting, especially if she has a grudge against the opponent. occasionally she injures a cat after they have tried to run away, or give another warrior a worse injury than is necessary.
She is independent, she doesn't like to be among a large group of cats. Socializing drains her, she would much prefer to be left alone to her thoughts. She also doesn't care for having a mate, and she really does not want kits. She had been tempted, as an apprentice, to try and become a medicine cat so no toms would try to win her over. However, her love of battling was stronger than her non-existent love of helping other cats.
As a leader, she is cool and calculating. Though she doesn't show it, she truly does care for the welfare of her clan and will worry in times of danger, especially if she has no control over it, like during a drought or leafbare. She will not, however, hesitate to have her clan leap into battle. Mostly it's over important things such as if she scents another clan on her clan's territory, but sometimes it might be over something seemingly unimportant, or even if she's just angry with the other leader. You may also find she likes to toy with the other clans.
History (250 words min.): Thornstar had only one sibling, but he died after only a few moons to greencough, as did her father. Thornstar doesn't remember either of these two cats.
Her mother was very protective after she lost both her mate and one of her kits. She would not let Thornkit stray out of her sight no matter how often she tried to go explore, as all kits do. Thornkit was very attached to her mother, even after she became an apprentice. She would often go on hunting trips with her mother, or spend lazy days with her. Unfortunately, her mother was killed by a WindClan cat during a battle when Thornpaw was 9 moons old. She was grief stricken, having lost her only remaining family, and a cat that she had been so close to. This is what caused her to avoid showing anyone that she cares for them. She does not want to live through the pain of losing a loved one again. She also held a grudge against the WindClan cat that did that to her, and couldn't wait for the day that she could rip into him. She ended up getting her revenge later in her life, as a young warrior.
As an apprentice, Thornpaw was much more mature than the other apprentices. She thought less of them because she found them all to be too loud, irritating, stupid, and immature. Because of this, she didn't make any friends, even though she usually avoided being flat out mean to any of them.
When training, she worked very hard. She wanted to be the best warrior the clan had ever seen, and maybe be leader one day. She did well in battle training, picking up moves quickly and even making up some of her own. At the hunting she was alright. She could catch mice easily, but things like birds and squirrels were too much of a challenge.
When she was 14 moons, Thornclaw was awarded her warrior name. As she has been a warrior for only four moons, she has not yet trained an apprentice. She doesn't really want to, though she does want to prove that she is capable of doing it.
She still doesn't have any close friends, but she's fine with that. She does have a few cats that she talks to frequently, and that's good enough for her.
Thornstar has also been in a many battles now, and has enjoyed defeating most every cat that attacks her. She loves seeing them run away screeching. She was made deputy when she was 25 moons old and was ecstatic. She worked hard as the deputy, but much of her clan didn't look forward to the day when she was leader.
She then became leader around her 30th moon. The previous leader had lost his final life to greencough. Thornstar was sad for the loss of the old leader, but she also felt a glimmer of excitement as she headed to the moonstone that night with the medicine cat to receive her nine lives. She has now been leader for only four moons, but she loves it.
Other notes: Thornstar is actually kind of a nostalgia character for me. Back when I was 11 or 12 and just started roleplaying warriors, I joined this really awesome RPG site and my first character (and first leader) was named Thornstar. I don't remember anything more about her than that, so I made up this new, very fun personality for her. c:
